Choosing a Playdate Pal

I look forward to most of my son’s playdates.  He really enjoys them and I welcome the break I get from the Pokemon games (you try remembering that Darcry is a water type who knows electric-type moves and who evolves at level 39 but is weak against grass types – it’s exhausting!)  When my son has a friend over it usually means I get to catch up on the things I have to do and occasionally even relax.  I say usually because sometimes my son – who is pretty cerebral -- has his more physical friends over.  On those days, I have to make sure I have nothing pressing to do so that I can be close by for the entire length of the playdate.  Maybe I’m over-reacting, but on the other hand I have walked into the room to find my son’s friend “Clark” acting as a bucking bronco and my son mid-air having been launched from said broncos’ back.  Another time I found my son on the unfortunate end of a wresting move that “David” had just learned from his much older brother.  So, I find I am more inclined to set up playdates with my son’s calmer friends so that I can enjoy the time too.  Does anyone else do that?  Am I being a little selfish?
